All the measuring instruments according to ISO (International Standards Organization) recommendations need to be calibrated once in every year.Even ISEE (International Society of Explosives Engineers) recommends the calibration of Seismographs at least once every year.Transducers of the seismographs convert the seismic movement into Electrical Pulse and software interprets the electric pulse into vibration. Hence for accurate results, it’s essential to ensure that the process of recording by the transducer and the interpretation by the software are correct.
During the process of calibration this process is checked and corrections made to ensure that results shown by your seismograph are accurate.
